The Revels chorus of adults and children, directed by Revels music
director George Emlen, collaborates with the Perkins Student
Chorus, directed by Arnie Harris, in an evening of song
and dance--previewing the music from the upcoming SummersDay
Revels production on June 21–22.
Guest artists for "Celebration of Spring" include singer Janice Allen and
pianist Donnell Patterson, with gospel songs from the African American tradition;
members of the Boston Chinese Chamber Ensemble with traditional songs from China;
and fiddler Emerald Rae and friends with tunes from Ireland.
Singer David Coffin will lead the
audience in "The Wild Mountain Thyme" and other songs. The
evening's performance will be directed by Revels artistic director Patrick Swanson.
"Celebration of Spring" takes place Thursday, May 22 at 7:30pm in Dwight Hall
at The
Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA.
