While its roots are in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the first Christmas Revels was performed in 1971, Revels, Inc., was founded as a non-profit organization in 1974 and has since established production companies in 9 additional cities throughout the United States. All companies perform annual productions of The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice. Many produce events at other times of the year as well.
