Revels is a performing arts organization engaging audiences in theatrical and musical
experiences that bring the world’s cultural traditions and celebrations to life. Revels is
seeking a full-time Development & Outreach Manager to oversee its fundraising program
(individual giving, sponsorships, and foundations) and build engagement opportunities
for audience members and the larger community.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Board, and colleagues to identify strategies for deeper engagement with Revels audiences, donors, and community partners.
- With colleagues, develop annual fundraising goals and strategies to support Revels’ mission and meet annual budget revenue goals.
- Actively engage and steward donors and community partners through timely communication, face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and events.
- Conduct foundation, corporate giving and donor prospect research to support growth in contributed income and sponsorships.
- Manage the portfolio of Revels’ donors and major gift prospects to identify and cultivate their interest in helping Revels successfully meet annual goals.
- Manage the CRM database (Patron Manager on the Salesforce platform), provide segmentation reports and prospects. Identify potential for improvement with new or additional technology and/or tactics.
- Track prospect and donor contacts and moves management within the Patron Manager database, create reports for the Executive Director and Board highlighting actions and progress. Identify changes needed to improve response.
- Build a deep understanding of Revels’ mission and goals to communicate to and engage the community effectively.
- Provide support for Revels public programs including working with staff on volunteer outreach, training and engagement.
- With the External Relations team, create campaign-related communications including emails, print and video communication.
- Work with the staff and Board in the cultivation/solicitation process as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Revels staff, including the artistic team, on an annual calendar of fundraising and engagement events.
- Lead staff and Board on timely and personalized acknowledgments for contributions.
Qualifications:
- An enthusiasm for building and cultivating relationships and a deep commitment to the value of the performing arts;
- At least five years of experience in an external relations role, preferably for an arts organization;
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising, soliciting and managing donors and partnerships;
- Experience and comfort with CRM software, report generating, and spreadsheets;
- Strong written and verbal communications are required;
- Facility in identifying and writing grant applications.
- Enthusiasm for Revels’ mission and the ability to engage all levels of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet necessary deadlines.
- Some evening and/or weekend hours are required.
